DESCRIPTION:The Miami-Dade Gay & Lesbian Chamber of Commerce (MDGLCC) presents its Women's Empowerment Soiree for the ladies (men are welcomed too!) on Wednesday\, January 11th from 6:00pm to 8:00pm at Mina's Mediterraneo.\n\n\n\nFood bites by host venue and cash bar.  A discount for those who want to dine during the event or stay afterwards will be provided.  Guest speaker / entertainer will be Andrea Askowitz.\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n About Andrea Askowitz\n\nAndrea Askowitz is the author of the memoir My Miserable\, Lonely\, Lesbian Pregnancy and the editor of Badass:  True Stories\, the Double Album. Her stories have appeared in The New York Times\, Salon.com\, xoJane\, Brain\, Child and Jewcy.com\, and have aired on NPR and PBS.  She is the founder of the Knight award-winning\, true-stories reading series Lip Service. She is also producer\, teacher and host of the podcast Writing Class Radio.
